Data Catalog Manager → Export and Import Data Catalog

Incorta provides the ability to export the Data Catalog or individual assets for reuse and import the Data Catalog into another cluster, while preserving associated metadata, tags, and glossary terms.

Export Data Catalog

You can export the Data Catalog, including all data such as domains and glossary terms, except for ratings and reviews, as follows:

1. From the Data Catalog home page, navigate to the Data Assets section.
2. Select Explore All.
3. On the Explore page, select More Options (⋮) → Export.
4. The entire Data Catalog will be downloaded as a .zip file.

You can also export a specific data asset by selecting it in the Data Assets, then selecting More Options (⋮) → Export on the Explore page. This will download the selected asset as a .zip file.

Import Data Catalog

You can use the exported Data Catalog, including its metadata, tags, and glossary terms, in another cluster by importing it.

1. From the Data Catalog home page, in the Action bar, select + New → Import.
2. In the Import Catalog dialog, browse to or drag and drop the .zip file.
3. A confirmation with a checkmark appears once the import is successful.
