Data Catalog Manager → Report a Quality Issue

Report data and metadata quality issues directly from the Data Catalog, where identified issues are documented, prioritized, and tracked through an integrated workflow.

Note

The Report an Issue feature is available starting 2026.1.0 and is visible only to users with View, Edit, or Share access.

Report data or metadata quality issues as follows:

  1. Select the Information (i) icon in the top-right corner of the page to open the Information panel (available on all assets).
  2. Select Report an Issue at the bottom of the panel. The Report an Issue dialog opens.
  3. Fill in the Issue title field.
  4. Select the issue type: Data or Metadata.
  5. Select the Issue category from the drop-down list.
    • Data issues: Completeness, Accuracy, Consistency, Uniqueness, Timeliness, Validity, or Other
    • Metadata issues: Completeness, Accuracy, Consistency, or Other.
  6. Describe your observation and expected behavior in the Description field.
  7. Select the Priority: Critical, High, Medium, or Low.
  8. Select Submit.
    • A confirmation message appears at the top of the dialog indicating the issue has been submitted.
    • A View Details link opens the issue in the issue tracking system, such as JIRA, displaying the asset name, URL, and description.
Notes
  • Any user with View access to an asset may report an issue related to that asset.
  • Data Governors can also self-report metadata quality issues.
  • If the Report an Issue workflow is not configured, the Report an Issue button is disabled.t
