About an insight filter

An insight filter is a filter expression that exists within the context of a given insight on a dashboard tab.

There are several types of insight filters and not all visualizations support the various types. Here is a list of types of insight filters:

The Rich Text visualization does not support using an insight filter.

When an insight is an applicable insight, an insight filter functions in conjunction with both a dashboard filter and a dashboard runtime filter.
