About a Connector
As a protocol, service, or Application Programming Interface (API), a connector specifies how Incorta can connect to an external system or application and ingest data. You use a connector to create an External Data Source with the Data Manager.
It is not possible to create an external data source with the File System connector because the File System connector is not exposed in the Data Manager. LocalFiles is a built-in, non-exposed external data source that uses the File System connector.
Incorta includes many out-of-the-box connectors for data ingest. There are connectors for:
- Applications
- Databases
- Data lakes
- File systems
- Streaming
- Query Services
- Other applications, such as Google Sheets
- Custom
