Concepts → Certification
The Data Certification feature in Incorta's Data Catalog enables Data Governers to mark specific data assets as verified and reliable. Certification provides a visual indicator to all users that the data asset has been reviewed and approved for use.
Purpose
- Establish a formal certification process for data assets
- Create a distinction between validated and unvalidated datasets
- Promote trusted data sources within the organization
Certification Scope
Certification can be applied to:
- Individual views within Business Schemas
- Entire Business Schemas (which contains multiple views)
User Roles and Permissions
Only users with the Data Governor role have permission to certify data assets. This restriction ensures that certification remains a controlled process managed by designated data governance personnel.
