Use Variables with Insight Titles

In the insight title, you can personalize insight titles with:

  • Presentation Variables
  • Session Variables
  • System Variables

For example, you can automatically apply a user’s name or the current date to insight title by using the $$user or $$currentDate session variables. Additionally, here are some other examples of using variables:

  • To reference the current date system variable in an insight title, enter $$currentDate.
  • To reference a presentation variable named pvGroupBy, enter `$$pvGroupBy`.
  • To reference an internal session variable named ivarIsUserInGroupAdmin, enter `$$ivarIsUserInGroupAdmin`.

To reference a variable in an insight title:

  1. Select the Edit icon (pen) on the insight tile.
  2. Enter the variable using $$ syntax.
  3. Select Done to apply your changes and return to the Analyzer.

On the dashboard, the newly added variable will now show up in the insight’s title.
